Michael K. McGarrity - CEO
Mr. McGarrity then joined Nanosphere Incorporated, a nanotechnology based molecular diagnostics company, where he took over as CEO in February of 2013 and engineered a turnaround of the company resulting in a successful sale of the company to Luminex in 2016. Mr. McGarrity is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and began his career in commercial banking in Chicago.
Jeffrey H. Bell
Jeffrey H. Bell founded the Company in June 2011 and serves as President, Chief Financial Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors. Prior to founding Sterilis, Mr. Bell acted as Chief Operating Officer of an Australian listed medical device company, Norwood Abbey Limited. During this time Mr. Bell was directly involved or responsible for:
- Capital raise – over $100M raised through various equity debt and quasi debt securities.
- Licensing – responsible for both in-license and out-license agreements for a variety of medical device technologies.
- Mergers & Acquisitions – negotiated and closed the successful purchase of an ophthalmic product line from Novartis subsidiary CIBA Vision.
- Spin out of subsidiary technology on the London Stock Exchange achieving a tenfold increase in book value upon listing.
Prior to joining Norwood, Mr. Bell worked as a Chartered Accountant for ten years and is an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.Mr. Bell has held various Board and Company Secretarial positions in both public and private companies.
Rick S. Barnett
Rick S. Barnett serves as the Executive Vice President of Sales. Mr. Barnett has held many senior level executive positions within the medical
device arena. Mr. Barnett is a performance-driven sales leadership executive with expertise in building client relationships, developing and
executing winning sales strategies, and the selection and development of top sales teams. Mr. Barnett is recognized as a leader with a reputation
for advancing successful business development campaigns, leveraging core strengths, and capitalizing on solid client relationships.
Mr. Barnett holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health Services Administration from the University of Hawaii. He is a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Barnett has more than 27 years of senior leadership and healthcare management. His background includes building businesses with companies like Stryker and Intuitive Surgical over the past 17 years. Mr. Barnett created the Da Vinci Specialist Program for Intuitive Surgical that produced 150% growth in just 18 months and spent 15 years with Stryker Corp. where he led the group to 646% growth over his tenure. Mr. Barnett served as the U.S. President of Sales and Operations with a U.K. based company Surgical Innovations where he was responsible for developing market share by creating distribution channels throughout the US. While at Surgical Innovations he grew the US sales from $1.2M annually to over $12M in 3 years.
Mr. Barnett is a visionary who commonly recognizes “outside the normal” opportunities while driving the current business to surpass established goals. Mr. Barnett has a proven track record of over 20 years of achieving planned goals in every position.
