Sterilis, LLC Named Technology for a Better Future Finalist in MassTLC’s Tech Leadership Awards
Panel of Industry Leaders Recognizes Sterilis Device for Sustainable and Safer Disposal of Regulated Medial Waste
BOXBOROUGH, MA, July 26, 2017 – Sterilis, LLC., the innovator in regulated medical waste management, today announced that it has been chosen as a finalist in the 2017 MassTLC Leadership Awards in the “Technology for a Better Tomorrow” category. The Mass Technology Leadership Council announced the finalists on July 19, 2017. Sterilis was named as a finalist among four others in its category, and 70 total leaders and companies in 14 categories.
A proven technology adopted by more than 60 health facilities and growing – including needle exchange centers, outpatient surgical centers, dialysis clinics and fire departments – the Sterilis device uses steam sterilization and grinding technology to transform medical waste into a harmless confetti-like material that can be disposed of in the general waste stream. The Sterilis method of waste disposal reduces toxic air pollution created when RMW is incinerated, which is one of the leading causes of greenhouse gas emissions. The device requires no fixtures or plumbing and can be operated by plugging into a standard electrical outlet.
“We are honored to be recognized by the MassTLC as a finalist for this highly respected award. We have dedicated many years and time to developing a device that not only creates a safe and more sustainable method for medical waste disposal but also provides our customers with a cost effective and environmentally friendly technology,” said Jeff Bell, founder, president, chief financial officer and chairman of the Board of Directors at Sterilis.
Finalists were selected from hundreds of nominations, as judged by panels of industry leaders in each of the 14 categories. Winners will be announced at the MassTLC Leadership Awards Gala on September 14 at Boston's Seaport World Trade Center.
