We have limited space in our practice, what is the size of the machine?

The machine has a small footprint of 36”x24”x47” – similar in size to a commercial photocopier.

How often does the water need to be filled?
Depending on usage, the reservoir is usually filled 2x per week. The machine will let you know when it is time to add water.

Is the machine noisy?
No, the machine operates at approximately 60db which is equivalent to normal conversation level.

Do you offer a warranty?
Yes, a one year warranty.

What is the capacity of the machine?

Depending on RMW volumes generated by a facility, one machine can easily handle the waste produced in most small to medium size medical facilities. Please call Sterilis Medical or your local Sterilis manufacturer’s representative to learn more about the capacity of the machine.

What is the life cycle of the machine?
Approximately 10 years under normal operating conditions.

By using the Sterilis machine, do we still have to keep manual paper Regulated Medical Waste compliance/tracking logs?
No. The software in the machine includes real time WIFI parametric monitoring which captures the sterilization parameters for all RMW compliance/tracking purposes. All RMW logging requirements, for OSHA purposes, on each sterilization process is transmitted to the cloud and electronically stored.

How long is a complete sterilization cycle?
An average cycle is 45 to 60 minutes.

Is the waste safe to dispose of in the regular trash?
Yes, after the waste has been processed it is safe to throw away as solid waste.

Can the machine be easily moved?
Yes, the machine has medical grade casters. Just unplug the machine and it is ready to be moved to a new location within your facility.

Do employees need special training or certifications to operate the machine?
No. However, Sterilis will provide training on the user interface for the machine. If you can use a smart phone, then you can use our machine – it is that easy.

Are there any Federal and State approvals needed to operate your equipment?
No. Steam sterilization is pre-approved for use in all 50 States as long as we meet the minimum operating parameters for time, temperature, and pressure as set by the CDC. Our machine exceeds the CDC minimum operating parameters. We would be happy to provide an efficacy report on the machine upon request.
